If you are an avid on-line shopper, you might want to check out Lucky Magazine's list of on-line markdowns:
http://www.luckymag.com/blogs/luckyrightnow/2009/10/online-markdowns-12.html
It lists coupon codes, sales and discounts for popular name brand stores. I'll be good, I'll be good, really I will! (But why did they have to tell me about the 20% off discount at Bloomies?)

Did you know that it takes 2+ weeks, or longer, for Wal-Mart to get a first-class mailed gift card to the recipient, after supposedly shipping it. You might want to think twice about buying one if you don't have at least 3-4 weeks before someone's birthday.
Great customer service Wal-Mart! NOT.
This is very embarrassing. I don't understand why Wal-Mart couldn't get a gift card there in 10 days. My friend got NO BIRTHDAY PRESENT from me. It hurt her feelings.
The card was ordered 09/15 and sup…

Do you have a Macy's charge card? Do you pay on-line? If so, what shows up as your "Current Balance" isn't what you really owe. According to one of their customer service reps, it is what "you would owe if you didn't pay the full balance." And to find your real balance you have to dig through several layers to find your actual transactions.
Shame on you Macy's. This kind of shameless misleading of your customers is uncalled for.
We miss Marshall Fields....

If skyrocketing bank fees and tougher credit standards weren't enough, the banks have an even sneakier tactic in their arsenal.
Banks are rushing to lower credit limits on thousands of unsuspecting card users.
Do you often pay your bill on-line, and don't even bother to open your paper bill? You better look closer. Your credit limit might have been cut by thousands of dollars!
Of course, we all know what happens when this happens. That's right - your credit score goes down, allowing banks to…

We've all heard the horror stories... the contractors who take the money and run, the scam artists, the guys who do shoddy work. And add to this that contractors can easily put a lien against your house, and you have a recipe for disaster.
HOW TO HIRE & WORK WITH A CONTRACTOR
1) Try to get a referral from someone you know
2) Check references
3) Check the Better Business Bureau report (www.bbb.org)
4) Check out a contractor's reputation on Yahoo
5) Get at least 2 estimates; 3 are better
6) D…

Comcast has decided to boot customers that download more than four movies per day.
They sent the following to customers today:
"On October 1, 2008, we will post an updated Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) that will go into effect at that time.
In the updated AUP, we clarify that monthly data (or bandwidth) usage of more than 250 Gigabytes (GB) is the specific threshold that defines excessive use of our service. We have an excessive use policy because a fraction of one percent of our customers use…
